Our Home
Relax and enjoy the expansive view of Lake Havasu at sunset as you drift peacefully on the private pool. You'll be greeted by a shady, traditional, enclosed Spanish "patio" with a bubbling fountain as you walk through the front gate.
We just completed our remodeling project and brand new southwestern decorating. Our house has a quaint "beehive" fireplace in the living room, and the kitchen and both baths are decorated with authentic talavera tile.
We spared no expense on the most important part of your stay - the beds. You'll sleep comfortably in every bedroom (including the twin beds). Two of our three bedrooms have king beds, the other has a pair of twin beds.
Lake View at Sunset is located on the prestigious "lake side" of Highway 95, close to the lake. In fact, from our front door you can easily walk to Mesquite natural area and fish off the dock or amble along the shore and enjoy a breakfast picnic. Windsor boat slip and the state park are less than a mile from our house. There's plenty of room to park your boat or RV in our extra-long, wide front drive. Park your car in the double-car garage to keep it cool and secure.
The home is spacious (over 1700 square feet) and architecturally a true Santa Fe design. The back patio wraps around the south and west side of the home and a separate private patio is just off the living room and 2nd bedroom on the north side of the house.
Our landscaping features more varieties of cactus than you can imagine including one little furry fellow in the front yard that looks cuddly but like all cactus will fill you with quills if you touch him. Mexican palms, desert varieties of shrubs and blooming bushes frame the lake view.
You can be at the London Bridge and a number of public golf courses in a few minutes, but we're located in a quiet neighborhood to ensure a restful stay for you and your family. There's a great Mexican restaurant, a family restaurant, a good little Chinese restaurant as well as grocery and department store shopping, all less than a mile away.
There’s Plenty to Do ... Or Nothing to Do ...
You choose. Our lake side location close to Windsor boat launch, Mesquite natural area, Lake Havasu State Park, shopping, restaurants, and of course London Bridge and Lake Havasu, makes Lake View at Sunset the ideal choice for your Havasu stay. Our pool catches the sun all day, and the heated, in-ground spa feels wonderful on cool winter nights.
- Bring your boat and cruise the lake or rent a watercraft of your choice
- Take a long or short hike at the nearby state parks or enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake
- Bass fish for trophy striped bass and a variety of other sport species
- Play golf at the Arnold Palmer course nearby or choose from a number of public courses in Lake Havasu
- Take the kids to Mesquite to hunt for shells (yes there are shells!)
- Drive quads, motorcycles, dune buggies on the nearby hills
- Hunt for gold (using metal detectors)
- Take a ferry ride to the casino across the lake and gamble (or just to enjoy the ride)
- Study the flowering desert
- Book a desert tour or escorted fishing trip
- Or, just take a walk to Casa Fernandez for some authentic Mexican food
- Personally, we prefer floating on the pool with a cold iced-tea and a good book between naps.
All the Extras
From the moment you book your stay at Lake View at Sunset, you’ll have all the necessary resources for an extraordinary vacation.
- Our home has over 1700 square feet of indoor living space and thousands of square feet of outdoor enjoyment. You’ll appreciate the art and other southwest décor including pottery, Mexican mirrors, talavera tile, sculpture, and southwest crafts.
- Our home also has a living room, two king-sized bedrooms, dining room, kitchen, a traditional Spanish “patio” in front, a patio that wraps around the south and west sides of the house, a separate patio with table and six chairs on the north side of the house, and of course the covered patio with a fountain on the front (east side).
- The king-sized master bedroom is spacious and tastefully furnished. It has a walk-in closet (no need to pack light), and a full private bath with a stunning walk-in tile shower and sliding door to the patio (no need to slog through the house in wet swimming gear to get to a bathroom). It also has an entertainment center with cable TV, DVD and VCR.
- The second king-sized bed is just through the double knotty alder doors off the living room.
- The third bedroom has two comfy twin beds and is very private; down the hall in the front of the house.
- If you must stay connected, we have a high-speed wireless internet connection and a cable modem.
- The gourmet kitchen includes a smooth top range, talavera tile, and is completely supplied including our favorite cook books, good knives, colorful pottery, and plenty of room to cook a gourmet meal or just fix sandwiches.
- The office (with Internet connection is) is just off the kitchen. A long built in counter gives you plenty of room to set up your office away from home (or your sewing machine!)
- The laundry room is in the same room as the office – inside, not in the garage like many Arizona homes. There’s room to set up an ironing board in the laundry room.
- The entire home is decorated in the southwest style, soft, earthy hues on the walls and splashes of color in the art and accessories.
- The private pool, walled yard, and in-ground spa provide you with a private retreat with one of the best views of the lake at sunset in Lake Havasu.
- The pool outfitted with a thermal roll-on cover that helps keep the pool water warm and comfy (but still cool on those hot summer days).
- The pool is a perfect rectangle—5.5 ft deep in the middle and 3.5 ft deep on each end, and is set up to accommodate a volley ball or badminton net.
- We keep a supply of inflatables for you to use on the pool, since floating is our favorite form of relaxation in Lake Havasu.
- Outdoor furnishings include:
- Two benches and two chairs and a table in the front patio
- Bubbling Spanish fountain in the front patio
- Table and 6 chairs on the north patio
- A bistro set just outside the master bedroom on the back patio (four chairs and a small table)
- Four reclining pool-side chaise lounges
- A large round table and four chairs on the south patio
- Double car garage to keep your vehicle(s) cool in the summer and secure.
- Extra wide, long drive to park your boat, jet skis, etc.
- The kitchen is completely equipped for good cooking including a well-supplied spice rack.
- There’s also a microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, mixer, blender, toaster, hot air popcorn popper, and all the hand tools we could think of including a superb ice cream scoop.
- Brand new washer and dryer.
- An amazing array of cacti (including prickly pear, ocotillo, barrel, saguaro, and other varieties I haven’t figured out yet).
- A huge Mexican palm in the back shades the patio off the master bedroom.
- Several palms in the front yard
- Egyptian cotton towels and bath rugs, luxurious cotton sheets and extra pillows for every room. We even supply several beach towels.
Location
- Lake View at Sunset is located in the north part of Lake Havasu City, on the west side of Highway 95, far enough away from the bridge and lake to be out of the tourist traffic, but close enough to walk to the beach (about a half-mile walk).
- Our neighborhood is quiet and up-scale.
- Close to grocery shopping (closest grocery store is Food City – they have a great bakery). In that same shopping center Wal-Mart, JC Penney’s, a good Chinese restaurant, hair stylist, Mexican restaurant, Staples, etc). Don’t worry about the traffic; we’re almost a mile from the shopping center.
- A short drive to the municipal center (with a mini-water park including a water slide)
- A half mile from Windsor boat launch and Lake Havasu State Park and wildlife area
- A few miles to London Bridge public golf course (36 holes!)
- A $2.00 ferry ride to the native American casino across the lake
- Within a day trip of Las Vegas or the Grand Canyon
- If you want to look up the general location on the Net, type in London Bridge Road and Aviation as cross streets, and you’ll be very close
Lake Havasu City is off the beaten path, not on the Interstate. That’s one of the reasons it’s the perfect Arizona retreat -- minimal traffic, birdsong in the mornings, great sunsets, peace and quiet.

About the Owners
Frank and Patty Coldwater... (the grey haired ones in the picture). We honeymooned in Lake Havasu City in 2004. It was the first time either of us rented a vacation home. What a delight! We fell in love with Lake Havasu and returned the following year and started looking for just the right home for us. We found our first house in February of 2006 and bought it in March. It was such a success that we purchased Lake View at Sunset in October of 2006. The next three months we spent remodeling, furnishing and decorating the Lake View at Sunset house that we hope to share with YOU!
Frank is semi retired and works as a maintenance tech at a senior apartment complex.. He’s got a construction background which has been very helpful as we readied our vacation homes for guests. I owned a direct mail advertising company in Colorado which I sold in October of 2004. I worked for the new owners for 18 months, and joined TMR Direct as VP of marketing in 2007. I consult on direct mail marketing and do public speaking and training on direct marketing topics.
Both of us were widowed a few years back. I lost my husband Dan in a car accident in 2002 and Frank lost his wife Evyon to cancer two years before that. We met at church and married in April of 2004. We have three sons: Shane, Cody and Brian. Shane and Cody live near Tucson and Brian, his wife and our grandkids live in El Mirage, AZ.
Frank’s hobbies include gardening, landscaping, and reading. He also likes movies and is a bit of a movie buff.
I quilt, sew, crochet, write poetry, and read, read, read. I have a degree in English and also studied Spanish and French. What people notice about me first is my height – I’m only 4'9" and weigh under 100 pounds.
We both take our spiritual commitments seriously so we spend a lot of time in Bible study. There’s always something new to learn in the “Good Book.” When we’re in Havasu, we worship with the Oro Grande church of Christ.
We have three canine family members, Caede, Sydney, and our newest, Maggie. The are all AKC border terriers.
